Top Five Ways to Beat the Disney Heat
Let's face it, Central Florida is HOT most of the year. Steam up your glasses, sweaty and red-faced HOT. Part of enjoying your Disney vacation is being prepared for the weather, no matter what time of year you visit. Keeping your cool is a big part of making the most of your Disney vacation - so I've compiled a few tips to help:
5. Powder your nose - and your feet and body. Pack wet wipes and use them for a quick refresh (face, neck, hands) any time.
4. Dress for success - light-colored, cotton clothing and moisutre-wicking fabrics are smart choices for every member of the family.
3. Break it down - when the weather is oppressively hot and humid, make sure you take enough breaks during the day in air-conditioned attractions.
2. Start early, stay late - if your family can handle an early wake-up call (my toddler gets up at 6:30 a.m. even on vacation), consider hitting the parks right at opening and then head back to your room before noon. Take a break, swim, nap - then go back to a park after dinner when it is (hopefully) a bit cooler.
1. Water, water everywhere - you can bring your own water bottle into the parks and every counter service restaurant will give you a free cup of water if you ask for it. Consider refilling your bottle at the Baby Care centers where they have a 'water cooler' of filtered water.
