Picking the Right Disney Resort

Today marked the official beginning of the 2016 Disney Parks Moms Panel search. Of course I threw my hat into the ring as I have done for the past several years. The 'sample' question on the application was about choosing a Disney resort vs. staying 'off site' and the advantages of the former.

All of the trips I've taken to Disney in the last 10 years, I've stayed on property. I mean, you can do a Disney Vacation Package, the dining plan, free transportation, Extra Magic Hours...what's not to love? For some people, they need to fully decompress at the end of the day, maybe they want to visit other Orlando-area attractions, so a non-Disney property might work for them. *shrugs*

Now that Ronan is part of our vacation party, we take care (and cost) to stay in 1-bedroom Disney Villas. These wonderful places come with a full kitchen, living room, split (or two) bathrooms and separate bedroom. It gives us the room we need to spread out and also give Ronan a place to sleep that helps guarantee we all get the rest we need. Staying at Bay Lake Tower in October 2013 was a special treat because there were two full bathrooms and a very large living area.

Of course, you don't want to "do" the same chores on vacation that you do at home. But let's face it, I'd rather whip up some macaroni and cheese in our hotel room than take a crabby 1 year old to three restaurant meals each day.

So think about your family's needs, your vacation budget and then check out allears.net to read more and see photos of each and every Disney resort.
