Just Strolling Along: Why You Should Rent a Stroller at Disney

No! Don’t rent one of those beige, hard, plastic buggies of pain from the Disney Parks.

Do yourself and your child’s hind end a BIG favor, and rent a much more comfortable stroller from one of the outstanding rental companies.

Let’s face it, you’re going to be doing a lot of walking on your Disney vacation, and your little ones will spend most of that time riding in a stroller. You’ll be wearing your comfortable, broken-in sneakers in an effort to avoid blisters and sore feet – you don’t want Junior bouncing around off the curbs and over vehicle tracks in a flimsy umbrella stroller.

We are big fans of Kingdom Strollers (www.kingdomstrollers.com) and also rent a full-size crib from them during our trips. Why spend the money? Let me count the ways:

  1. If you’re driving to WDW, you won’t have to take up precious room in yo

ur vehicle for a large jogging stroller.

  1. If you’re flying, feel free to use a small umbrella stroller to navigate the airports. But leave it in your resort hotel room and rent a larger stroller instead.

  2. The bigger the stroller, the more souvenirs you can shove into the ‘under seat’ storage.

  3. The bigger the stroller, the more stuff you can hang off the back (e.g. your gigantic, heavy diaper bag full of things to keep your child happy).

  4. A large, comfortable stroller can double as a spot for an impromptu nap (we call is a stroller nap, so original), and you don’t have to run back to the hotel.

Be sure you know how to collapse the stroller long before getting in line for a bus. Nobody wants to wait for you to scream and swear at that contraption (who, me?) when they’ve been in line for a bus for 45 minutes. And be aware of others around you, these large strollers take up a lot of room even when folded for bus rides, and you don’t want to inconvenience your fellow passengers.
