RunDisney Changes I'd Like to See

In April, on my 41st birthday, I ran a 5K. I'd like to say that it was fun. But I HATE RUNNING. This started as a Wordless Wednesday post, but I have some time, so why not complain? I know, I know...sooooo out of character, right? Bwahaha.

But come on. Let's dive into the issues I have with RunDisney events - let me know, do you agree? What would you keep or kill?

1. The early start times - Ugh. I'm on vacation. It's bad enough my kid wakes up at 6am EVERY DAY, but to get up even earlier on VACATION? TO RUN?

2. Hauling ass all the way to ESPN WWOS for packet pick up - It's not so bad when we're able to drive ourselves over, but heading to this location, walking about a mile from the car to the venue, it's just not any fun for me...yes, I do get to see some friends who work at the expo - but I'd willingly pay more money if my bag of stuff was brought to my resort room or front desk.

3. The 5K run route - I've run through the Epcot parking lot during so many events lately that I feel like a Cast Member. I understand that some routes are restricted because of the amazing updates coming to the Parks, but I'd still like to see them switch things up.

4. Post-race transportation set up - If I was more competitive, this would bother me more, but it does irk me when I'm just getting started with my run and the elites from group A are already waiting for the bus back to their resort! Isn't there a way to make it so that us lowly F corral folks don't have to see that this is happening?

5. The total lack of race etiquette by about 70% of runners/walkers - there really should be moderators or something in the race to help break up the groups walking 3-4 across, especially where the course narrows. Or folks who don't know to say 'on your right' or 'on your left' when passing. I applaud folks for getting up off their duffs to move, but there are rules for a reason, people.
