Disney FAQ: What can I skip?

A nicer way to put this: "How can I prioritize my time during my trip?" But let's be honest, there are (in my humble opinion) attractions and even some entertainment you should just say "NOPE!" to during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation.

First thing's first: I'm not a party girl, and I don't like being around a bunch of drunk people. And that's why I think that if you're like me...SKIP THE EPCOT FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL. I'm not saying skip Epcot...no way. But if you're visiting during this special event, don't go to Epcot on a Friday or Saturday NIGHT. It will be a frat house. Drunk people in the bathroom. Vomit. Yuck.

Attractions you can skip if you're pressed for time -

  • Magic Kingdom: Stitch's Great Escape, Carousel of Progress, Tomorrowland Speedway, The Barnstormer, Aladdin's Magic Carpets, The Enchanted Tiki Room, Magic Kingdom Railroad.

  • Epcot: Any of the live shows, the Living Seas, Living with the Land

  • Hollywood Studios: Fantasmic!, Tower of Terror, Rockin' Rollercoaster (Insider tip: Go to DHS in the afternoon or evening. For most folks, this is a half-day park in the morning. We have found it to be nearly a ghost town come dinner time). If you have a little one who wants to take part in the Jedi Training Academy, you're going to end up spending half a day here. Choose wisely, Padawan.

  • Animal Kingdom: Dinosaur, Flights of Wonder (the live bird show), any of the dino-land stuff, Rafiki's Planet Watch, the Lion King (live show) and Finding Nemo (live show).

If you're taking a short trip or need to prioritize, I'd also leave Disney Springs, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon OFF of your list. These are fantastic places to visit and enjoy, but only when you have (as my yoga instructor likes to say) the gift of time.

So there you have it. Hope that helps as you're planning your WDW trip!
