October 2017 Trip Report (Part 2: Tuesday)

Make sure you read Part 1 of the trip report here.

Monday night’s rain ruined hubby’s already worn out shoes, so Tuesday morning found us on the bus to Disney Springs for a bit of shopping. Ronan HATES to shop, but he did think it would be fun for me to take his photo with a mannequin. I mean, how do you tell your kid that it’s NOT a real person and not really a photo opp?

We also hit the Lego store while at Disney Springs and grabbed a snack of delicious vanilla gelato at Vivoli it Gelato, which is egg-free and safe for His Majesty. And even though it’s $5 for a small, it was worth every delicious penny.

Tuesday afternoon we drove over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for a few attractions. Arriving just in time for a performance of Beauty and the Beast: Live on Stage, we pulled up a bleacher and enjoyed the show while hubby shopped. The weather was incredibly hot but we were also able to see part of the Star Wars stage show, ride Toy Story Midway Mania and Star Tours.

The most frustrating part of our day at DHS was the food situation. All three of us were really looking forward to having pizza from Pizza Rizzo for dinner, only to find the location closed. UGH, what a disappointment! The back-up plan, Catalina Eddie’s, wasn’t serving, either. We ended up a hot dog for His Majesty and some barely passable pulled pork for me and the Mister. The park was crawling with people, all shoved into the front of the park by a lack of dining choices…not sure what’s going on with that, but I digress…

We somehow managed to kill just enough time at DHS, including taking in Playhouse Disney Live on Stage and The Voyage of the Little Mermaid, before grabbing a spot for the 8pm Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Fireworks. These have GOT to be the BEST fireworks I’ve ever seen. And even though I’m a sentimental fan of Wishes, there’s something about this display that just makes the little kid, Mommy and fangirl in me go, “Oooohhhh!” If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, this is one of those not-to-be-missed type of shows.
