October 2017 Trip Report (Part 3: Pandora FAIL)

If you haven't already, check out Part 1 and Part 2 of the October 2017 trip report.

Well, as much as I would LOVE to be able to tell you how cool the Rivers of Light ride in Animal Kingdom’s new Pandora area is…I can’t. The FastPasses we had for Wednesday morning (after our amazingly delicious breakfast at Tusker House) went to waste. The ride was ‘down’ at our time, and even though we had a free pass to return ANY TIME…well, I don’t have to tell you how freaking long the line was at that point. The new area is gorgeous and I really did feel transported, guess the rides will have to wait until next time.

Back to breakfast…Tusker House is always a treat, but this trip, they really hit it out of the park. Service was good, food was GREAT, characters came around quickly. They seem to have done away with the conga line of kids, which made me a little sad, but it certainly freed up the characters’ ability to move through the dining room and visit with the tables.

After breakfast was our first, but failed, trip to Pandora. We spent about 30 minutes taking it all in, and seeing that the ride wasn’t operating, opted instead to enjoy a ride on Kiliminjaro Safaris – a favorite of ours. Following the safari ride, we wandered over to Rafiki’s Planet Watch – but just for the quick round-trip train ride. His Majesty LOVES TRAINS.

We also managed to take in Finding Nemo The Musical and grab a late lunch at Flame Tree BBQ - Ronan even grabbed a stroller nap while hubby took a spin on Dinosaur. I'm sure that I'm missing some details and likely have completely screwed up the actual order of our day, but that's neither here nor there. It was a fun day despite the setbacks with Pandora and we got a lot of awesome comments from other guests on our custom Monorail shirts.

Wednesday evening we went back to Epcot for dinner at Via Napoli. They've got some nerve charging $9 for a very tiny Caprese salad, but it sure was yummy. And we really enjoyed the pizza (we always do) and left with some leftovers that made a yummy lunch on Thursday. Ronan also got to spend a ton of quality time with the model train display in the Germany pavilion. Did I mention that His Majesty LOVES TRAINS?
