Disney Firsts: Droid Depot / Disney’s Hollywood Studios
During our April 2021 trip to Walt Disney World, the Farrell family experienced several “Disney Firsts” – and since that doesn’t happen very often, I decided to blog about it. This is Part 1 – Droid Depot.
On our second park day, we visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios and ran into a friend from Ronan’s school back in Atlanta. The friend had just visited Droid Depot in Galaxy’s Edge – and we were able to get an appointment to return and build a droid later that week.
You need to have an appointment to build a droid – and you cannot check-in until your appointment time. Upon checking in, you’ll join the line and you can see the different options for building your droid. Ronan chose a BB unit in white, red and black. We also opted for the ‘deluxe’ package, which includes a custom backpack to transport your completed droid.
Once we had paid for the package, Ronan and Christian continued over to the conveyor belt to choose the different parts. After making those selections, they were directed to a Cast Member who helped them to assemble the different pieces and activate the droid.
Ours is named BB 123 and we’re looking forward to getting to ‘know’ his personality!
