Read this in the voice of Sebastian the Crab: "Under Da Sea"

If there’s no link or separate recipe, it’s because you’re welcome to use whatever recipe you like (or, in most cases, the recipe was rubbish and I won’t waste your time with it).

Little Mermaid 'Under the Sea' Theme Night

Movie: The Little Mermaid

Drink: Ocean Water (I made citrus-infused water, added blue food coloring and a Swedish fish for 'garnish')

Entree: Velveeta shells and cheese with peas (as 'pearls', get it?)

Sides: 'Sea Cucumber' salad (cucumbers + red onion in a vinegar + sugar dressing), 'Seaweed' (French cut green beans)

Dessert: 'Beach' Jell-O

Special Note: I love getting decorations at Dollar Tree! This time of year, there's no shortage of beach and ocean-themed items. The 'Let's Be Mermaids' sign, pink and blue plates, 'fishnet' to hang from the fireplace and even the white plastic table cloth printed with seashells were all cheap finds.

For this meal, I found a lot of inspiration on Pinterest - if you search for 'Little Mermaid Party', there are ideas for turning everyday food items into special treats. My favorite was potato chips mixed with goldfish crackers called 'Fish and Chips'!
